I started in financial services at a family-owned trust company in my home town of Amarillo, TX in 2001. Except for the 4 years following the great recession, when I taught high school social studies, I have built my professional career in financial planning and advice. In those 15 years I have seen the best, and worst, economies in recent history. The professional experience gained over this time has given me insights into the economy, investing, and behavior - all things important in providing value to clients.

I enjoy meeting and learning about new people, however, I would classify myself as an introvert, so that's not always easy for me. This does, however, give me an advantage over the typical financial salesperson - I prefer to listen more than to speak.

I often get asked how a Texan came to be living in Ohio - I'm told that most people go the other way. Well, my better half is the reason for that. My wife, Annie, is an amazing Nurse Practitioner (soon to be Doctor) with the Cleveland Clinic and she was born and raised here in northeast Ohio. We lived in Texas for 12 years, but when one of the world's best hospitals offers you a job, you can't turn it down, so we moved to Ohio - and yes, I'm okay with the winters, so far!

We live in Painesville and attend Fellowship Bible Church in Chagrin Falls. With Family in Mantua, and an office in Rocky River, you can imagine that I put a lot of miles on my car each year, but it's still not as bad as when we lived in Houston.

We have 2 little dachshunds, Lucy and Hank, who don't get to leave the house much because of their antisocial behavior. If you've ever known a dachshund, you know what I'm talking about. Annie and I do however get out a lot to explore all that we can, especially all the great places to eat in Cleveland - we love the great Italian food!
